We never know what is going to happen in life and sometimes, things happen so quickly that we don’t really have the time to adjust to them appropriately. That was what happened with a man named Dakota when he was spending the day working in the garage with his wife. Everything was going fine when he left to run some errands but by the time he came back, he would be shaken to the core. His wife was on the floor unconscious and didn’t appear to be breathing.
Dakota called out to his 11-year-old son so he would call 911. He then started to do CPR but unfortunately, she had been without oxygen for 20 minutes and her brain had been injured. She survived a few weeks in a coma but eventually, she passed away and doctors have no idea what took her life. That is when Dakota found himself somewhere that he never thought he would be. He was caring for his seven children between the ages of 1 and 16 and caring for the home.
It’s unbelievable when you think about all that he was going through at that time. He was grieving over the loss of his wife but also was responsible for taking care of his children. He was working three jobs part-time just so he could cover the bills. It seems like there was no hope but not all was lost.
An anonymous donor wanted to do something kind for him and his family when they heard about his story. They decided to give some assistance for the holiday season and it came in the form of a special gift from ‘Secret Santa’. When Dakota got the note and opened it, he found that it had $10,000 inside.
