Mom Splits The Internet After Admitting She Snoops On Her Teen’s Phones

If there is one thing we know about parenting, it’s the fact that everybody has an opinion on the subject. Some people will have the opinion because they have their own children and others will have the opinion because they watched the children of others.

Those opinions can’t always fit everyone and sometimes, people are going to be upset when they hear an opinion. That was the case with the mother who said something and the Internet can’t get over it.

According to that mom, Laura Muse, she checks up on her kids regularly by snooping through their phones. Her children, a 15-year-old son, and a 17-year-old daughter have to give up their phones before they go to bed so they get a good night sleep.

The mother then takes the phones and hacks into them to look through text messages, pictures, and social media. She wants to make sure that her teens are not getting out of line.

In speaking with <a href=”https://nypost.com/2022/11/19/i-pay-for-my-teens-phone-so-ill-spy-on-them-whenever-i-want/”>The New York Post

“I own their phones, I pay for the phones. I can go through them whenever I want,” she said. “People might think [it] is a sign of disrespect or an invasion of their privacy, but this is how I manage my ship.”

At first, she would check them when the children were around 11 on a weekly basis. Now she will still check on them regularly, although she may not ask them for their phones quite so often.

She said that she trusts her children but she wants to do the checks to prevent them from doing something inappropriate.

For example, she caught her son posting shirtless pictures of himself on the Internet. She made him delete the content.

“If I do find something that’s an issue, we talk about it and turn it into a teachable moment,” she added. “I’m not perfect, I don’t expect my children to be perfect, but it’s important to keep an eye on things.”

Of course, there were plenty of opinions on the subject. Some people applauded her efforts while others said it was an invasion of privacy.

And the debate rages on
