People Are Upset After Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Change Their Children’s Names

There are times when somebody who is often in the public eye makes a decision and it isn’t the most favorable. It’s a decision that is still made, but it is going to get some criticism along the way.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have found themselves in this situation now that they have changed the name of both of their children. Those children, born Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor live with their parents in the United States.

Now the couple has decided to change the name of their children and it is for a reason that is disputed by some. This comes on the heels of many of the other decisions that they made as one of the most controversial members of the royal family.

It all started when the Duke and Duchess stepped down as senior Royals in 2020 and went against tradition that has lasted for centuries. They moved to California, where they are raising their two children.

Their first child, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor was born May 6, 2019, at the Portland Hospital in London. After being born, he was seventh in line to the throne.

Archie had opportunities as a royal family member more than many others. He was able to meet his grandmother, the late Queen Elizabeth II in a public event that took place only two days after his birth.

These days, he enjoys a relatively normal life with his parents in Montecito, California.

Their daughter, Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021. She was born in the United States and we haven’t seen much of her since she was born. They chose her name as a tribute to Queen Elizabeth, who had Lilibet as a childhood nickname.

One thing that has now been confirmed is that the names of Archie and Lillibet have been changed by their parents. Not everybody is happy with it, but it goes right along with the rebranding of the family.

One person said: “Instead of rebranding, I would like to see them actually accomplish something. It’s all spin and rather sad.”

Another said: “This pair will do anything to be in the limelight, complete hypocrites. For a couple who wanted to be out of the media, they sure do a great job of staying in it.”

There are also some who are supportive of the decision. They commented, saying: “What’s in a name? What’s in a title if it only brings misery in your life? They chose to live their life away from all the toxicity. That is their right. Wishing Harry and his family all the happiness in the world!!! God bless.”

Many others had similar sentiments.

Since the coronation of King Charles III, reports are that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s children are being called Archie and Lilibet Sussex, rather than Mountbatten-Windsor.

This also went along with the rebranding of the family website to Sussex.com.

According to some sources, the Duke and Duchess are doing this to help unify the family. One insider said: “It represents their unification and it’s a proud moment.”
