Donald Trump lashed out at Time magazine over a new cover that he said showed the “worst of all time” picture of him. He said the image was “super bad” and deserved to be “called out” for how it made him look.
The 79-year-old had recently traveled to Israel and Egypt for a peace summit involving leaders from twenty nations. The trip led to a deal between Israel and Hamas that freed hostages and released more than a thousand prisoners.
In an interview, he said: “I’m good at solving wars. I’m good at making peace.” The event in Egypt was meant to highlight global cooperation on the Gaza ceasefire.
Time magazine released its new cover soon after, featuring a low-angle shot of Trump wearing his usual navy suit and red tie. The story described his efforts to secure peace as a “strategic turning point” for the Middle East and called the agreement a possible “signature achievement” of his second term.
Trump, however, focused less on the article and more on how the cover made him look. He wrote on Truth Social: “Time Magazine wrote a relatively good story about me, but the picture may be the Worst of All Time. They ‘disappeared’ my hair, and then had something floating on top of my head that looked like a floating crown, but an extremely small one. Really weird!”
He said he never liked pictures taken from “underneath angles” and believed the photo was “super bad.” He added that it “deserved to be called out” and asked, “What are they doing, and why?”
Trump first appeared on Time’s cover back in 1989 and has been named Person of the Year twice. He told an interviewer once: “To be on the cover of Time as Person of the Year is a tremendous honor. It means a lot, especially me growing up reading Time magazine. And, you know, it’s a very important magazine.”
He appeared again in 2024, chosen over Kamala Harris, Elon Musk, Joe Rogan, and others. The magazine said he earned the title for “marshaling a comeback of historic proportions” and for “reshaping the American presidency.”
Over the years, Trump has had a love-hate relationship with Time. In 2015, he complained about not being chosen when the award went to Angela Merkel, saying she was “ruining Germany.” In 2013, he called the magazine’s list of the 100 Most Influential People a “joke.”
Even now, despite being featured on the cover once again, Trump made it clear that one bad photo is all it takes to ruin his mood.
