If you hang out with friends for any length of time, the conversation is eventually going to turn to weight loss. It’s something that many of us think about regularly, and often we are looking for the easiest way to lose weight.
Recently, many people have begun talking about a weight loss drug that was actually designed for diabetics. Ozempic is the medication, and many famous people have lost a considerable amount of weight by using it.

If you look at some of the famous people who have lost weight using Ozempic, you may notice that they are looking very thin in the face. Perhaps they feel that that is to be expected, but celebrities, such as Whoopi Goldberg and Sharon Osborne may want to consider a possible side effect.
According to Dr. Michelle Green, a cosmetic dermatologist based in New York, one of the big issues with using the medication is now known as ‘Ozempic Mouth’. She has actually seen it in a number of her clients and is now sounding the warning.
The doctor said: “Many users of Ozempic who I know report noticeable volume loss in the face, which can result in the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and jowls around the mouth.
“This volume loss can also worsen the appearance of existing fine lines, wrinkles, and skin laxity, contributing to a more aged smile and overall look.”
She also said that people who use a higher dose of Ozempic may see a more noticeable side effect because their weight loss comes quickly.
A number of women were pointed out by the dermatologist, including the aforementioned Whoopi Goldberg and Sharon Osborne. They have admitted to using Ozempic and have seen changes in the area of their mouth, including drooping skin at the chin and increased vertical wrinkles.

Something similar also happens with male celebrities. “Actor and playwright Harvey Fierstein has also been open about taking Zepbound, another weight loss medication, which has led to increased sagging skin and jowls in the face after he lost a staggering 120lbs.”
If you’re wondering about this issue, you’ll be happy to know that there is a way to fix it. Dr. Green says a number of patients have come to her asking for dermal fillers in the area of their mouth to restore the lost volume.
She said that the fillers, which are injected under the skin to help smooth lines and restore volume can “restore volume to the face, smooth the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and plump the skin to create a more youthful-looking appearance.”
Fillers are becoming more popular but they are costly. The price for this type of cosmetic work can be up to $2000 per syringe.
Dr. Green would also like to give another suggestion to those who are concerned about Ozempic mouth. It’s a noninvasive radiofrequency treatment that can tighten skin and improve its appearance.
“As the body’s collagen levels increase, the skin becomes firmer and tighter.
“However, it takes four to six months to see results from Thermage, after which the results can last approximately one and a half years.
“Patients on Ozempic should ideally undergo a Thermage procedure early in treatment or before treatment begins to prevent the development of loose, sagging skin on the face.”
Then again, a 30-minute session will cost up to $3500. That can put it out of reach for many individuals.
You may want to consult with your doctor and adjust the dosage if you are using Ozempic so that you lose weight gradually rather than rapidly. It’s not as glamorous, but it may be able to help.
