Jessie J Shares Devastating Cancer Update With Fans

Pop star Jessie J has shared another emotional update as she continues her battle with cancer. She spoke directly to fans about how heavy the experience has been, and why she is still pushing forward.

Earlier this year, Jessie revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. The news came after years of other personal struggles, including endometriosis and miscarriage, which she has spoken about before.

After nearly a decade of trying to conceive, she is now the mother of her two-year-old son, Sky. Becoming a mom has completely changed how she views everything, especially her health and future.

When she announced the diagnosis in March, Jessie told fans: “Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding on to the word ‘early.’ But honestly, I need to process it and talk about it and, I need a hug.”

She made it clear she wanted her supporters close during this time. Jessie said: “You have loved me through all my good and hard times. And I don’t want this to be any different.”

Although doctors caught the cancer early, the journey has not been easy. Treatment forced her to make difficult decisions about her career.

Earlier this year, she was forced to cancel her tour. She had been scheduled to perform in the UK and Europe, followed by dates in the US, but another surgery meant those plans could not move forward.

Explaining the decision, Jessie said: “I need to be healed, and I know this is the right decision to make. So I’m postponing the tour till next year.”

She asked fans to be patient about the US shows, saying it was something she still wanted to do, but only when the time was right. Jessie added: “You guys know how much I want to do all of it, but I just can’t. And I have to be realistic.”

Following the news, fans flooded her social media with messages of love and support. Many encouraged her to focus on her health and her son, and told her they would be there whenever she was ready.

Reading those comments, Jessie responded emotionally. She wrote: “I’m scrolling these comments in bed right now, sobbing my eyes out. The LOVE and SUPPORT and UNDERSTANDING. Is felt. Thank YOU.”

Jessie has also shared what it was like finding out about her diagnosis. She explained that her doctor messaged her to arrange a call, which she did not think was serious at first.

Recalling the moment, she said: “I was, like, ‘Oh, it’s a Zoom, it won’t be anything.’ So I jump on the Zoom thinking it’s all going to be good, and she goes, ‘Are you sitting down?’ You know that sad tone they use? And she says, ‘I’m so, so sorry, but your test results have come back as high-grade cancer cells.’”

She admitted the news hit her hard, but her thoughts immediately went to her son.

Speaking on TV, Jessie explained how motherhood has become her biggest motivation. She said: “It’s the magic of my little Sky… I love my boy so much. I’m living my best life. Being a mum as well and having a career and a child and having both, I’m loving it.”

In her most devastating update, Jessie revealed her first reaction after hearing the diagnosis. She explained: “I said, ‘Oh, that’s not ideal, is it? That’s not f***ing great timing.’ The first thing I thought was, ‘I can’t die because my son needs me.’”
