A young man is getting roasted online after finishing a HYROX race while his girlfriend was passed out and getting help from paramedics. The clip from the event shows her unconscious on the ground while he just keeps going.
It happened over the weekend in Sydney at a HYROX event, where athletes run one kilometer eight times and do workout challenges in between, such as sled pushes, burpees, rowing, and wall balls. The event is big with fitness people and some treat it like a marathon-level goal.

Another competitor, Aaron Boundy, caught it on video and posted it to TikTok. In the clip, medics are working on the woman as her boyfriend keeps doing wall balls.
Boundy said: “That guy’s girl just fainted and like full hit the deck, she’s unresponsive, and he just kept doing the wall balls and then crossed the line by himself. He’s left her there … what a piece of s**t. I think I’ve just witnessed one of the worst things in my life.”
He said she was twitching on the ground while medics put up barriers around her. Boundy also said the guy went over, tapped her leg, asked officials if he could keep going, and they said technically yes, so he took off and finished the race.
The video got tons of attention and kicked off a heated debate. A lot of people were furious, calling the guy selfish and cold for caring more about the race than his partner.
One person online said if they signed up as a couple and their partner kept going during a medical emergency, that relationship would be done. Another said they hoped she dumped him.
Some critics even went after the HYROX culture itself, saying it feels cult-like and pushes people to ignore basic decency just to finish the event.
Not everyone agreed though. Some backed the guy, saying if trained medical staff were already helping her, there wasn’t much he could do besides stand there.

One woman who said she was the woman in the video commented: “My first two questions to my partner when I came to was ‘Did you finish it for us, and what time did we get?’ And for context, if you bothered to show it, he came back straight away.”
Another person claiming to be an ER doctor said: “Meh, I’m an ER doc and he couldn’t do much except be at her side for sentimentality. Nothing wrong with continuing the competition.”
Some witnesses also pushed back, saying the video didn’t show everything and that the guy checked on her multiple times.
A HYROX official confirmed she was looked at by medics right away, then moved in a wheelchair to the medical area. He said she recovered enough to walk out and was told to get checked again later just to be safe.
They also explained that both teammates have to finish the whole course to get an official time and ranking, which might explain why he chose to keep going.
