Jennifer Lopez has been praised for the pronouns she used while talking about her teenage child, Emme.
The singer attended the Broadway opening night of Othello, starring Denzel Washington and Jake Gyllenhaal, with her 17-year-old.
As reported by Page Six, Lopez was in her “mama bear” mode when the paparazzi put a “huge paparazzi camera” in her child’s face as they were leaving.
“She went mama bear,” the source said, claiming that Lopez “yelled at the guy” for invading her child’s personal space.

The moment resonated with many online familiar with Emme’s non-binary identity.
The star made headlines back in 2022 at the Blue Diamond Gala at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles when she introduced her child to the stage using they/them pronouns.
“The last time we performed together was in a big stadium like this and I ask them to sing with me all the time, and they won’t,” Lopez said, “So, this is a very special occasion.”
She added: “They are very, very busy, booked and pricey. They cost me when they come out. But they’re worth every single penny because they’re my favourite duet partner of all time. So, if you will indulge me.”
The moment instantly went viral with fans praising the star. One person wrote on X: “JLo, you are a wonderful mother and you both sang beautifully.”
Another wrote: “’They’ is how Emme identifies. This was JLo sharing that information, it’s beautiful to see her supporting her child.”
“Awww JLo respecting the pronouns,” a third added, with another saying: “Aw I love her support.”
Amazing!
