A young couple was struck by a vehicle while fixing a flat tire on the shoulder of Rodovia do Sol, leaving the community in shock.
According to the Military Police, they had stopped their Chevrolet Cruze when a Chevrolet S10 pickup crashed into the parked car. “The Fire Department was already assisting the victims when we arrived,” officers reported.
Three people, including Ingrid and her brother, were injured and rushed to local hospitals.
Authorities suspect the S10 driver was drunk. “He showed clear signs of intoxication,” police said. However, the driver fled before emergency services arrived, sparking concerns about accountability.
The crash has reignited debate over drunk driving laws and road safety in the region.
