Three men have been confirmed dead after a mudslide near Lillooet, B.C., and one person remains missing, according to the RCMP.
The search began earlier this week. “One deceased individual was recovered on Wednesday,” said B.C. Chief Coroner Lisa Lapointe. “Two additional bodies were located on Thursday.”
Recovery efforts have been challenging due to the unstable terrain. Authorities have not released the names of the victims, and the search continues for the fourth missing individual.
The RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
