The November 18 podcast episode, titled “Smoking my dead dad”, left many viewers puzzled and intrigued, as the title seemed to describe exactly what happened.
Explaining the motivation behind this unusual tribute, Pansino shared on X:
“We lost my dad about five years ago to Leukemia. He was the best. His dying wish was to be grown into a cannabis plant and be smoked.”
The video sparked questions and debates, especially regarding the health risks of inhaling ashes from embalmed remains and whether such an act might be legally questionable as ‘abuse of a corpse.’
However, Pansino later clarified that her video title leaned into clickbait territory.
She addressed the speculation to clear up the confusion surrounding her tribute.
Responding to a curious fan on X, she provided more details about her process, saying: “Just a quick Correction: I did not smoke my dad’s ashes directly.
“You should never smoke ash. My father’s ashes were mixed into soil in which a cannabis plant was grown. I smoked the cannabis plant.”
Another fan expressed admiration, saying: “What an incredible way of honoring your dad. I feel like it’s his way of saying “hi” (high?) one last time. ❤️”
A third person humorously concluded: “Oh now this is a new idea for me. I always thought about being a tree but I think I want to be weed.”
Rosanna Pansino’s unique tribute isn’t the only reason she’s been in the news lately. She has also been involved in a public dispute with Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson, known as MrBeast.
After alleging that MrBeast edited her out of a video in 2023, Pansino escalated the matter by claiming to have reported him to the FBI, sharing alleged messages from MrBeast’s Telegram chats.
As one user cleverly noted in the replies to her video: “The Rosanna rebrand the past few months is crazy.”
