Girl Found Alive After Days Trapped With Bodies Of Her Mom And Brother

There are times when we may hear of someone who deals with a situation that was so horrific, we almost can’t believe that it is true. That is how many feel about the four-year-old girl who was found recently, trapped inside her home.

The little girl was trapped inside of the home in New York and was surviving on eating only one type of food. It wasn’t just the fact that she was in the home alone, her mother, 38-year-old Lisa Cotton, was also in the house after passing away. Her eight-year-old brother’s body was also discovered.

When Hubert Cotton, Lisa’s 71-year-old father, received a call from the landlord asking if Lisa had moved, he knew that something was wrong. Eventually, Lisa’s oldest daughter went to the apartment to check and found the terrible scene.

Hubert said: “I had been trying to call her for days and she never answered. I figured she didn’t answer me because she didn’t want me to talk to me.”

After Lisa’s oldest daughter made the discovery, paramedics were called. They pronounced her mother, along with her eight-year-old brother, Nazir Millien deceased at the scene.

Her father continued: “When she came in, [Nazir] was slumped over.” At that point, the daughter was looking for her mother and she found the four-year-old girl, Promise, ‘feeding herself with chocolate’ was sitting on her mother’s bed.

Cotton said: “She picked her up and ran out and called the police.”

According to reports, Lisa’s daughter had described the scene, saying that there were ‘bugs crawling on’ the body of eight-year-old Nazir. We can only imagine the horror she must’ve felt at that time.

Promise was taken to the hospital in stable condition and is living with her grandfather after being discharged. She has experienced a level of trauma after what took place.

Cotton was speaking of his granddaughter, saying: “She hasn’t said anything. She’s a baby. She looks at me sometimes, you know? Like she knows something.

“We don’t know anything, we’re trying to find out.”

Neighbors reported that Lisa had not been seen for more than two weeks. Officials were called out, but there were apparently no smells or other cause for concern, so they didn’t feel the need to break in.

A neighbor said that the police said “they’d be back in a few days. One of the social workers said she was trying to get a court order to have the door broken in.”

A neighbor who lived upstairs, Eric Perez added: “The landlord hadn’t done wellness checks, people had called, neighbors called. It just smells like rat infested… the exterminator said the same thing — the smell is similar to rats and even death.”

Hubert is now dealing with the loss of his grandson and his daughter. He is also struggling to arrange for the funerals, saying: “I’m sorry. Two of them. How am I going to get the money? To bury both of them?”

Nobody is sure how Lisa or her son passed away at this time.
