A newly married couple returned from their honeymoon without saying a single word to each other.
The groom looked miserable, while his wife walked straight past everyone without even glancing in his direction.
Concerned, the groom’s best friend pulled him aside.
“What happened?” he asked. “You two were so happy before the wedding.”
The groom sighed deeply.
“Well, on the first night of our honeymoon, after we finished making love, I reached into my wallet without thinking and left a $50 bill on the pillow.”
His friend winced but tried to reassure him.
“That was definitely a terrible mistake, but I wouldn’t worry too much. I’m sure she’ll forgive you eventually. After all, she can’t expect you to have been saving yourself all these years.”
The groom slowly shook his head.
“That’s not the problem,” he said.
His friend looked confused.
“Then what is?”
The groom replied:
“She gave me $20 change!”
