The Interrupted Argument

My wife and I were having a serious argument one morning.

Things were getting more heated by the minute, and finally I pointed toward the bedroom and said:

“Pack your things and…”

Before I could finish the sentence, her phone rang.

She answered, and since the call was on speaker, I could hear everything.

It was her father.

After exchanging a few greetings, he said:

“My daughter, I’ve transferred $1,000,000 into your bank account. Give your husband $500,000, and keep the other half for yourself.”

Then he added:

“I’m also sending one of my parked cars for you and your husband to use as the family car.”

After a few more words, they said goodbye and ended the call.

My wife slowly turned toward me, crossed her arms, and asked:

“You were saying I should pack my things and do what?”

I immediately smiled and replied:

“I SAID PACK YOUR THINGS AND GIVE THEM TO ME TO WASH …

I will iron them when light comes back.”
